Kardia is a Software-as-a-Service company that is driving a new paradigm in heart disease assessment. Kardia post-processes cardiac MRI tissue tagging studies to generate contractile information over 3-dimensional cardiac grid. Kardia offers a highly quantitative methodology to accurately quantify baseline cardiac contractile injury.
Kardia’s key challenge was to process raw data with 800+ millions of records. The data processing required analysis of big data from FDA portal residing in multiple and very large csv files. It was challenging to read and organize the data as the data needs to be processed and trained to be consumed by deep learning AI models. Attempts to organize or process the large files in other servers were futile due to the nature and volume of the big data.
CLOUDVICE proposed OCI as a solution as it is higher performing and a lower cost option for the customer to process huge volumes of data in a short time to drive accuracy and efficiency in diagnosing heart disease. This provides Kardia an opportunity to experience OCI‘s performance for big data engineering to achieve their mission.
